The leading culprit for why people gain weight and how you can lose it faster is how you eat your carbohydrates. In this show Robert Ferguson (CEO and founder of Diet Free Life) shares how you can eat any type of carb in combination to maximize your metabolism, optimize blood sugar and lose weight without ever giving up the foods you love! Many people THINK that when you lose weight you can’t enjoy such comfort foods like mac and cheese. Others may assume you can eat mac and cheese, but in moderation. What most aren’t aware of is that you can eat mac and cheese every day if you want as long as you consume it in the right combination with other foods and don’t eat too much at a single time.

In this radio show, Robert Ferguson sheds light on scientific data that demonstrates clearly that even when total calories consumed is the same - some people lose weight best when they're eating more or less carbohydrate and fat calories. In two studies referenced in this show, it will become clear that one weight loss program (i.e., low carb, low fat) is not ideal for everyone. Have you ever heard that supplementing with Folic Acid is a good thing? Women who are pregnant or might become pregnant take folic acid to prevent miscarriage and “neural tube defects,” birth defects such as spina bifida that occur when the fetus’s spine and back don’t close during development.

Folic acid is a water-soluble B vitamin that is also used for preventing and treating low blood levels of folic acid as well as conditions like liver disease, alcoholism and kidney dialysis. Folic acid has can be used for many things, but don’t rush out and start supplementing with it.

Here’s the deal: since 1998, Folic Acid has been added to cold cereals, flour, breads, pasta, bakery items, cookies, and crackers, as required by federal law. Then you have foods that are naturally high in folic acid which include leafy vegetables (such as spinach, broccoli, and lettuce), okra, asparagus, fruits (such as bananas, melons, and lemons) beans, yeast, mushrooms, orange juice, and tomato juice.

The recommended amount of Folic Acid each day is 400 mcg. But if you’re consuming products that are fortified with Folic Acid, you may be consuming too much, which could cause abdominal cramps, diarrhea, rash, sleep disorders, irritability, confusion, nausea, stomach upset, behavior changes, skin reactions, seizures, gas, excitability, and other side effects. There is some concern that taking too much folic acid can increase the risk of heart attack in people who have heart problems. Other research suggests that taking these high doses might also increase the risk of cancer such as lung or prostate cancer.

It’s unfortunate, but if you’re taking a multivitamin that has Folic Acid – STOP. This is one of many reasons to take our Diet Free Daily multivitamin. We specifically formulated our Diet Free Daily without Folic Acid, but packed with the key vitamins and ingredients that fills nutritional gaps and acts as a fat accelerator. DID YOU KNOW that love begins in the kitchen! Here is how nutrition relates and supports our relationships and how we can get active together. Getting on the same page as it pertains to what’s cooked and eaten in the home empowers a relationship between husband and wife. Cooking one meal versus two or three helps to reduce stress in the home and this reduces conflict around food and reinforces love in the kitchen and household.

There’s research and studies that families who dine together eat more vegetables and fruits than those who rarely or never dine together. There’s a study that suggests kids that eat with their families most days are less likely to be overweight. SO, make the time to unify and come together as a family weekly and enjoy a fat burning meal.
